Pastor Steven Evans to be Ordained Anglican Priest
On Saturday, February 23 at 10:30 am, the Rev. Steven M. Evans of Liverpool, will be ordained an Anglican priest by the Most Rev. Doc Loomis of the Anglican Mission in the Americas and installed as Rector of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 6136 South Salina St., Syracuse, where he has been serving as Interim-Pastor. The service is open to the public and will be held at Missio Church, 620 W. Genesee St. in Syracuse, which is the historic former Presbyterian Church.
Born in Utica and graduated from Liverpool High School, Evans received his theological training from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy and from North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL with a Masters in Divinity. He was previously ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1997 and served as Intern-Pastor of Trinity Covenant Church in Rochester and Senior Pastor of First Covenant Church in Willoughby Hills, OH. He has also served as the Associate Pastor for Evangelism and Youth Ministry at Trinity Episcopal Church in Watertown and as a Festival Director for the Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association based out of Harrisonburg, VA..
Evans, is also a 2011 graduate of Onondaga-Cortland-Madison County BOCES Lee Peters Career Training Center in Liverpool with a Certificate in Web Design and Maintenance, runs StevenEvansOnline.com, a web design and marketing firm, concurrent with his ministry.
Mr. Evans has been married since 1991 to Alyx Evans, the Children’s Ministry Director of Grace Covenant Church in Clay. They homeschool 5 children and are involved in community sports and theater.
